Covenant ChurchesWe have different relationships with other churches and ministries around the world: . Mission Care – the foundations of Mission Care were laid when John and Constance Higgins were drawn to an area of Mitchells Plain in Cape Town that was the territory of gangs of gun-toting youngsters. It was formally established in 1995. It runs a church congregation, feeding of the community, a highly-respected nursery, numerous programmes for children and young people, and a number of social enterprises. The work of Mission Care has been recognised by the state government. A message from John & Constance: “We really do appreciate what you do for the people of Mission Care. It is indeed a great encouragement to the people to know that across the ocean there are people that care. We are not just saying this, it has made such a difference to many elderly people who had no families that we supplied with Christmas dinner. They are so thankful to you all. When we gave families hampers we came across a family who had lived on bread and water for three days. So blessed be the name of the Lord. Thank you to all who gave to faces and names unknown to them but known by God". New Hope |
