LJM is one of the new breed of church-based organisations with a passion to contribute to the spiritual and physical transformation of their communities. Starting up as a church plant, Temple of Praise, in Liverpool in 1980.
It has grown into an international organisation with a heart, working extensively across the region, running pioneering community projects such as the Liverpool Lighthouse - the U.K.’s first dedicated Urban Gospel Arts Centre, supporting development of gospel music across the M62 corridor of North England and using this popular art form to engage, equip and restore a wide range of disaffected groups, all within a sustainable social enterprise model.
Lighthouse Furniture Bank is our furniture recycling enterprise, spearheading our ‘green’ programmes. The international arm of LJM provides oversight for church congregations and projects in South Africa, Uganda and Pakistan, extending and exporting its expertise to support the work of other similar minded organisations.
Liverpool Lighthouse, the UK's first dedicated Urban Gospel Arts Centre, boasts a 430 ranked tiered seat auditorium and facilities that are home to a range of exciting inclusion, educational, and diversionary projects that use arts and gospel music as a tool for engaging, developing and enhancing the skills of community members.
